Dr. Dyer resides on the Peninsula with her husband and two sons. She obtained her Doctorate of Medicine Degree and her Masters in Public Health at Tulane University School of Medicine and is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Dyer is currently serving as a Member of the Mills-Peninsula Health Services Board and is on the Board of Mills-Peninsula Medical Group. She was Chairperson of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Mills-Peninsula Hospital for four years. In addition, Dr. Dyer is active in many community affairs. She was named one of the Bay Area's most trusted physicians (San Francisco Magazine, January 2001).

Along with her partner Dr. Jurow, Dr. Dyer was a pioneer in advanced laparoscopic surgery and alternatives to hysterectomy. She has a special interest in advanced gynecologic care and menopause transition.
